Fall is a time of festivals, enjoying the beautiful foliage and celebrations with family. This October come check out some of the exciting fall festivals throughout Maryland and Virginia!
From October 7th to October 8th, come check out all things pumpkin at the Maryland Pumpkin Festival! This event will include face and pumpkin painting, pumpkin donuts, a pumpkin hunt, pumpkin sculpting, a pig race and fireworks! Tickets are sold online and will be available at the gate.
From October 14th to October 15th, bring your family to the Applefest at Wachusett Mountain! This festival will feature family entertainment, over 150 craft and farmer’s market booths, a scenic foliage sky ride to the summit, a mountainside barbeque and so much more. The Applefest is also a Celtic Celebration and will feature Celtic music, a variety of beers and entertainment.
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! This October 20th through the 22nd, head to the National Zoo in Washington DC for Boo at the Zoo! This event will have live entertainment, educational stations as well as after-hours access to various exhibits and animal houses. Attendees will also be able to fill up their Boo at the Zoo trick-or-treat bags at the 40+ treat stops.
On October 21st from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, come check out the OktoBEARfest at the Maryland Zoo! Each ticket includes unlimited beer and wine sampling, a sampling glass, admission all day to the zoo and access to live music, vendors and food. Every Saturday and Sunday from October 7th through October 22nd, come spend the day at the Graves’ Mountain Apple Harvest Festival! This event will feature Bluegrass music and clogging, a hay maze, hayrides, horseback rides, handcrafted fabric, clothing and woodwork!
Fairfax Fall Festival
This October 14th, come check out the 41st annual Fall Festival! This festival will feature over 400 crafts, arts and food vendors as well as various activities for children and live entertainment. Admission is free, so don’t miss out on this fun day!
From Wednesday October 11th through Sunday October 15th, bring your family and friends and come checkout the Autumn Glory Festival! This festival seeks to celebrate the beauty of the fall foliage in the local area. The Autumn Glory Festival will feature two parades, art exhibits, concerts and antique and crafts shows.
