Our world has looked much different in recent months than it has in the past. Many businesses are having their employees work remote, restaurants are working at half capacity and people are being asked to stay home. With all of the sudden changes, it can be tough to stay positive.

5 Tips for Staying Positive During Coronavirus

  1. Understand the virus: If you understand how the virus is transmitted and your risks, it can help to remove the mystery. For peace of mind, stay up to date on the information provided by the CDC. Understanding the risks of the virus can help to minimize the stress of the unknown.
  2. Stay healthy: When things with the world seem so uncertain, it can be tough to stay positive. One thing that can help you to stay positive is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Whenever possible strive to eat healthy meals filled with fruits and vegetables. It’s also important to incorporate physical activity into your life. If you can, go outside and go for a walk or run. Another good option is to tune into an online workout or catch a lift in your home gym.
  3. Random acts of kindness: With so much stress and uncertainty in the world, it’s easy to focus on the negative. Break through the negativity by doing a random act of kindness for a loved one! Even something as simple as sending a card to a friend or family member can go a long way.
  4. Make it fun: Instead of focusing on what you can’t do, focus on what you can do. While you may be limited on what you can do outside of the house, in your home, the options are endless! For example, if you’re looking to spruce up family dinner, ask everyone to dress up as their favorite superhero or character from a show. If you’re looking to get social, create a book club with loved ones and meet via video calls.
  5. Be productive: One of the most difficult parts about being quarantined is feeling stagnant. Now that you have more time, a great way to focus on the positive is to do the home projects you’ve always wanted to do! Whether that’s a kitchen renovation, building a playset for the kids or repainting the house, small improvements can help you keep a positive outlook.
