The Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia hosts two of the major home and garden trade shows, the Washington D.C. Home and Remodeling Show and the Capital Home, Remodel and Garden Show. Both shows are filled with great remodeling, renovating and decorating ideas and seminars and demonstrations from local, regional and national presenters. Below, we’ve highlighted some of the special events happening at both home and garden trade shows.
The home improvement season starts off with the Washington D.C. Home and Remodeling Show. The show takes place January 22nd to 24th. The show will feature leading edge technologies, products and services for inside and outside of the home. Over 200 vendors will showcase their home products including windows, heating and air conditioning, paint, roofing, appliances and furniture. This year there will be special appearance by Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out on Friday and Saturday. DIY Network’s Rescue Renovation host, Kayleen McCabe, will be presenting on the main stage Friday evening and twice on Saturday. The show will feature seminars and presentations from remodeling experts, designers and local chefs. Find decorating tips in the newly expanded designer rooms exhibit or schedule some time to get advice from professional remodelers.
The Capital Home Remodel and Garden Show is February 26th to February 28th. This show focuses more on finding new ideas and great deals for landscaping and gardening projects as well as a chance to speak with experts in home remodeling, decoration and home improvement. Jonathan and Drew Scott, better known as The Property Brothers will be the featured guests appearing on Saturday at 1 pm. Andy and Candis Meredith of the new DIY Network show, Old Home Love will be appearing Friday and Saturday. The Capital Home Remodel and Garden Shows contains over 3,600 square feet of feature gardens, greenery and gardening accessories.
The Baltimore area also has two winter home and garden shows: the Baltimore Remodeling Expo and the Maryland Home and Garden Show. Both shows focus on renovating and decorating tips and ideas with presentations and hundreds of exhibits. Below are just a few of the activities that will be taking place at these Baltimore area shows.
The 18th Annual Baltimore Remodeling Expo is January 22nd to 24th at the Baltimore Convention Center, Halls A & B. The show features the latest design trends, products and maintenance tips for everything around the home from hundreds of vendors and exhibitors. Local and regional experts will have presentations on everything from kitchen and bath remodeling to how to make your home “greener”.
The Maryland Home and Garden Show takes place at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland for two weekends in March: 5th to 6th and 11th to 12th. The theme for this year’s show is: “Art in the Garden”. There will also be over 300 exhibitors to help with spring and summer gardening and renovation plans, a petting zoo, free art and antique appraisals (one item per person), the Maryland Orchid Society Show, plant sale, samples of landscaped gardens and much more.
After you have visited the different home garden and remodeling shows and received tips for your remodeling or renovation projects, it is time to start planning your upcoming spring and summer projects. Renting a self-storage unit for household storage is a great way to keep the furniture and accessories protected during remodeling or renovation projects. If the remodeling project allows you to get new furniture, keep the older furniture in a self-storage unit until you decide to sell, donate or throw away the belongings. Enjoy the home and garden shows and good luck with your spring and summer home improvement projects!
