The holidays are here, and there’s no shortage of sights to see. If you’re in the Baltimore area, check out some of these events happening near you.
Baltimore’s craft scene is active with quality, handmade items available from a number of vendors. Craft shows offer you a chance to check out a variety of wares, and they can help you find the perfect gift for that special someone on your holiday shopping list. As an added bonus, you’ll be supporting the local economy!
The Peabody Heights Brewery in Baltimore is the site of Last Stop Hops & Shop on December 15th. From 5-9 P.M., you’ll be able to browse a variety of local vendors’ handmade goods while enjoying delicious food and drink options. If you missed Charm City Craft Mafia’s Holiday Heap on December 9th, this is another great opportunity to check out the local craft scene.
Now in its fourth year, Christmas Village at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor offers fun for the whole family. Enjoy a Christmas Market featuring more than 50 booths with vendors selling a large variety of arts, crafts and more. While you’re there, enjoy live Christmas music, food, drink and merriment. Christmas Village is open now through Christmas Eve, December 24th. Note that they are closed on Tuesday, December 13th.
These light displays are surefire ways to brighten the holidays.
Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood lights up around 5:15 every evening, and the displays stay on until 11:00 PM. Since 1947, the Miracle on 34th Street has been a feast for the eyes. You can find the spectacle at 720 W 34th Street in Baltimore.
Sandy Point State Park’s Lights on the Bay has been a popular destination for families seeking dazzling lights for a decade. Enjoy a scenic drive featuring more than 60 illuminated displays. You’ll find it on Route 50 at exit 32 near the Bay Bridge in Annapolis.
Howard County General Hospital invites you to experience their Symphony of Lights. With more than 250,000 bulbs, this family-focused extravaganza also features a laser light show, 3-D holiday video and an outdoor ice skating rink. Check them out in Symphony Woods in downtown Columbia, Maryland.
Upper Marlboro’s Festival of Lights is a holiday drive-through event that boasts more than a million lights, a variety of displays and one of the tallest tree displays in Maryland. Visit Watkins Regional Park at 301 Watkins Park Drive, and prepare to be amazed!
