Discover Baltimore’s great ethnic and cultural festivals for 2015
Baltimore’s diverse cultures are celebrated every year with ethnic and cultural festivals. The Baltimore events run from early June through November at different venues throughout the Baltimore area. The ethnic communities bring vibrancy and tradition to the Baltimore area and people from all over come to Baltimore celebrate during festival time. There are festivals to celebrate the many ethnicities and the great culture of the Baltimore area. ezStorage is excited to share our 2015 Baltimore Cultural and Ethnic Festival Guide. June Baltimore Ethnic Festivals
There are many Baltimore Ethnic Festivals that take place in June. Three ethnic festivals events take place during the first weekend in June: The St. Nicolas Greek Folk Festival, the Philippine Festival, and the Feast of St. Anthony. The St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival takes place June 5th to 8th at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Celebrate Greek culture with food, dancing, music and entertainment. The Philippine Festival is June 6th at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. There will be parades, music, games, cultural presentations and a kid’s zone. The Feast of St. Anthony is one of two Italian festivals held in Baltimore’s vibrant Little Italy neighborhood during the summer. The feast is hosted by St. Leo’s Church on June 6th and 7th and has great food, a bocce tournament, kid’s activities and entertainment for the entire family.
Honfest is June 13th and 14th on 36th Street in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood. This festival is a local Baltimore tradition that honors the city’s working women. There’s food, entertainment, contests and don’t miss the pageants that shine a spotlight on the beehive hairdo, hon!
June 27th and 28th is the 35th Anniversary of Latinofest celebrating Baltimore’s Hispanic culture and heritage. The festival takes place at Patterson Park, in the heart of Baltimore’s Hispanic community. There will be great music from salsa to mariachi, arts and crafts, food and children’s activities. The event is put on by the Education Based Latino Outreach.
The African American Festival in Baltimore is June 20th and 21st at the Camden Yards Sports Complex between Lots B & C. This free event is a celebration of African American life, music and entertainment. There are vendors representing everything from healthcare to the latest in fashion and design. Also, many local, regional and national entertainers such as Stephanie Mills, Will Downing, Faith Evans, and Doug E Fresh will be performing on the many stages at the festival. Over 350,000 people attend this annual festival, which is sponsored by the Mayor of Baltimore.
