For anyone that usually participates in annual Black Friday shopping, your plans to shop might look a bit different this year. With this year’s coronavirus pandemic, there are a variety of different ways you can make your shopping experience safer this year.

Black Friday Shopping 2020

Black Friday 2020 will definitely be different than previous years. Here are some ways to have a safer shopping experience:

  1. Skip In-Store Sales and Shop Online. Avoiding going to stores prevents you from finding yourself in a large crowd or long line of other shoppers. You can easily shop online from the comfort of your own home and even utilize services like curbside pickup, where you order online and then pick up your item outside of the store.
  2. Start your Shopping Early. If you’re going to have a large amount of holiday items delivered, it’s a good idea to start shopping early, to ensure the items arrive in time for the holidays. With the coronavirus still lingering, it’s safe to assume that there will be an increase in the number of online shoppers this holiday season, and your orders might get delayed.
  3. Start Researching Black Friday Deals Now. A large number of stores are hosting early Black Friday deals to help reduce the amount of people that show up to stores on the actual day. Some sales are online, and others are in-person, it all depends on where you’re looking to shop this holiday season. Look up your favorite stores now, to see when and what deals they will be offering so you can make a safe plan to shop this year.
  4. Take Precautions if You Shop In-Store. If you do still intend to shop in-person at your favorite retailers this Black Friday, make sure you take the proper precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These include wearing a mask while you’re out, keeping a distance of six feet from others while shopping and make sure to wash your hands after handling items.
