Ride Your Bike to Work on Friday, May 20th

Have you ever thought of riding your bike to work? Did you know that in the D.C. area, thousands of commuters actually already bike to work on a daily basis? This is because many of these commuters have recognized some of the key benefits of riding their bikes to work, such as:

  • Saves money on gas. Even though the cost of gasoline has gone down slightly in recent months, maintaining a bicycle is far cheaper than the cost of maintaining a car. With the right type of gear and equipment, you can bike to work year round!
  • A great way to stay in shape. Start and end your work day with some exercise! Physical activity is a great way to boost your energy, improve your mental health and help you shed some extra pounds.
  • Good for the environment. By riding a bike to work, you’re saving the environment from some of the 30-40 percent of ozone-causing pollutants produced by cars and trucks on the roads each year.
