Baltimore African American Festival
Reading Time: 1 minute

The weekend after the 4th of July continues the cultural celebrations in Baltimore with the African American Festival. This year’s festival, which is scheduled for July 6th and 7th at Parking Lots B & C at M & T Bank Stadium, has been going strong in Baltimore for over 30 years.

The festival starts both days at noon and ends Saturday at 10pm and Sunday at 8pm. The African American Festival  is a celebration of African American life, music and culture. This is a family oriented event filled with regional and national entertainers, children’s activities, art, history, education, financial literacy, health and wellness tips and much more!

There will be over 150 vendors with booths and attractions for shopping as well as food. In the past there have been over 500,000 people who have attended the festival and this year should be no different. There are 2 stages for entertainment at the festival with performances being held throughout both days. The performer’s names are continuing to be added to the festival, but the headliners are Patti Labelle and Fantasia.

It was recently announced that RaVaugh and Luck James have been added to the performers list. There will also be traditional music and dance presentations at the festival. The African American Festival is sponsored by the City of Baltimore. This year the festival is part of Radio One’s “Stone Soul Picnic”. Other sponsors include: Visit Baltimore, Kaiser Permanente, MTA Maryland, Morgan State University, Coca Cola, Shop Rite, State Farm and more. Find out more updated information on the event’s social media pages: Facebook and Twitter. This festival is a great way to extend the 4th of July holiday celebrations in Baltimore. Get out and enjoy the city and all that it offers this summer and all year long!
