Baltimore is a diverse city with a wide variety of cultures, ethnicities and traditions dating back to when the city was founded in the early 1700’s. This diversity is showcased in the many Baltimore cultural festivals that take place from June to November every year. Festivals in Baltimore celebrate the heritage and culture of a variety of ethnicities including the Irish, Polish, Russian, African-American, Caribbean, Greek and Italian communities.

To help you navigate and enjoy the festivities, ezStorage has created “The Ultimate Guide to Baltimore Cultural and Ethnic Festivals”, a guide to many of the great ethnic festivals in the Baltimore area. June Baltimore Festivals June is a big month for Baltimore cultural festivals with multiple events held throughout the month. Two big events take place during the first weekend in June:  St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival  and the Feast of St. Anthony . The St. Nicholas Greek Folk Festival takes place from June 5th to June 8th at the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Celebrate Greek culture with food, dancing, music and entertainment. The Feast of St. Anthony is one of two Italian festivals held in Baltimore’s Little Italy neighborhood during the summer.

The feast is hosted by St. Leo’s Church and has great food, a bocce tournament, kid’s activities and entertainment for the entire family. June 14th and 15th is the uniquely Baltimore Honfest festival which is a great local tradition honoring Baltimore’s working women. There will be plenty of food and entertainment; and don’t miss the pageants that shine a spotlight on the beehive hairdo! June 21st is Latinofest which honors Baltimore’s Hispanic community. The festival takes place at Patterson Park, in the heart of Baltimore’s Hispanic community. There will be great music from salsa to mariachi, arts and crafts, food and children’s activities. The African-American Festival  is held June 21st and 22nd at the Camden Yards Sports Complex between Lots B & C. This free event is a celebration of African-American life, music and entertainment. There will be vendors representing everything from healthcare to the latest in fashion and design. Also, many local, regional and national entertainers such as Mint Condition, Brandi, Johnny Gill and Chico Debarge will be performing on the many stages at the festival. Over 350,000 people attend this festival, which is sponsored by the Mayor of Baltimore.

There are many more Baltimore festivals to come throughout the summer and fall. Stay tuned for more information about these events in future blog posts! ezStorage is proud to be a part of Baltimore’s diverse community and welcomes you to visit one of our 15 Baltimore area storage locations.
