Spruce up Your Backyard With These Backyard Retreat Ideas

  • Evaluate your space: While there are many great ideas out there for improving your backyard, when it comes down to it, it really depends on the space you have. Walk through your backyard and look for the strengths and weaknesses of your space as well as what can be easily improved. If your backyard is shady, it may not be the best option to add in a garden. If your backyard is larger, you’ll have more flexibility in what you can do with the space.
  • Add a deck or patio: A great way to improve your backyard is to add a small deck or patio. Even if you don’t have a lot of space, a low deck can still be installed. This is not only a convenient spot for eating breakfast, reading and relaxing, it also helps add value to your house.
  • Invest in lighting: Proper lighting can make a night and day improvement on a space. Depending on your preference, you can either strings lights from the trees, add lights to the back of your house or add ground lighting to the lawn.
  • Vertical garden: If you can’t fit a standard garden in your backyard, consider a vertical garden. With a vertical garden, you’ll still get to taste and enjoy fresh vegetables and herbs grown from your garden.
  • Add a fence: If you’ll be in your backyard a lot, you may enjoy the privacy of a fence. A fence is not only convenient for privacy, it’s also an additional security measure.
  • Make your backyard fit your lifestyle: When it comes down to it, what you choose to do with the space should be tailored to your lifestyle. For example, if you have young kids that play sports, leave an area for them to throw a ball around. If you enjoy entertaining, put in a firepit and a place for outdoor seating.

With a storage unit rental, you can store extra furniture pieces, clothes, boxes of miscellaneous items and more until you need them again.

Recently, we’ve rolled out a contactless rental option. This helps to reduce unnecessary person-to-person contact and allows our customers to rent a storage unit from the safety and comfort of their home. If you prefer to rent a storage unit in person, our storage facilities are still open. Rent a storage unit with ezStorage today!
